Spring Break

Well, it's that special week of year again: Spring Break in the ATL! UNC is playing in the Final Four! Opening Day is rolling around, and the Braves are still in the hunt! And the Masters is next weekend!

WoW will be dark for a week while I'm down on Florida's Forgotten Coast. Thanks to all for reading!

Best,
Jim H.

Some music I've loaded on my iPod for running on that beach above:

  1. It’s a stoned soul picnic, Jim. Everyone’s invited. Everyone’s welcome. That’s what makes it fun. And special. And complicated, but worth it. You just have to answer one silly question (and there’s no right answer):

    Can you surrey?

Please think of your jealous readers as you tear across that stretch of coastline. I doubt it could ever be forgotten. We’ll be respecting the economy in your absence. Have fun. Come back to us refreshed. Hurry home.

  2. Er, I was going to say, "gee, Wisdie, I didn't realize things hadn't gone dark around here already," but then I followed Frances Madeson's link to her self-published and clearly god-awful novel and the darkness just got a bit darker for us all.

  3. Thanks for following the link, Toast. Actually I was back here to ask Steven if I fixed the typo in surry if he might consider wearing it on a tee-shirt. Would you, Steven? Please.

  4. Hello, my name is Frances Madperson and I am only writing to your blog to publicize my completely shit, self-published novel. Thank you for hosting my weblink.

  5. Are you a man or a mouse? Come out from behind that pussified veil of anonymity and say that to my face. Alrighty then!

  6. I don't get it. Why you people think giving yourself a name and a photo makes any damn difference? My name is Derek Catermole. I live in Vancouver, and I enjoy puncturing bags of gas like yourself. Does that help at all? So now, about that shit, self-published novel. No excerpts available on your pretend-real-publisher website, but one can visit Youtube and see Frances Madeson performing her one-loony show version of the work — go y'all, check it out, try to stay awake.

  7. Hi Jim

Thanks for comment on Glass Hombre - yeah, I meant to include Nicholson Baker in list - this looks interesting Eve Richardson: "Space, Projection and the Banal in the Works of Jean-Philippe Toussaint and Nicholson Baker". Thanks for comment. Great blog...
